One of St Coumban’s College Caboolture School Captains for 2019, Jonte Connolly, has been invited to be part of the ‘Train On Squad’ for the Queensland Youth Under 17 Boys Sevens teams to prepare for the National Championships in Brisbane this December.
This program is about giving players identified in the Under 16 and Under 17 age group a chance to develop specific Sevens skills and give them the opportunity to represent their state at National Championships, which is a selection trial for the Australian Youth Boys Program for 2019.
The Connolly family’s sporting genes are strong with sister Ella, 18, having competed over 400m on the track at the World Under 20 Championships last year and brother Josh, 20, building his decathlon credentials.
