We know you’ve heard it all before: breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

This rings especially true on days where you’re going to be exerting a lot of energy, whether that’s one of your training days or a round game.

We put together a few breakfast ideas to get your body going so you can give it your all.

Oats

Oats are packed with vitamins and minerals that are perfect for sustaining energy over time, so porridge or muesli is an excellent breakfast choice for a sporting day. Try adding some yoghurt or bananas on top for an extra boost!

Avocado Toast

Avocados are full of healthy fats and fiber, making them another great breakfast option because your body can store their energy for later release. Avocados are not only delicious, they’re also a source of B vitamins, crucial to energy production.

Use a multigrain toast or some seeds sprinkled over the top for some extra goodness – chia seeds, flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds are particularly good for fighting off fatigue.

Scramble Eggs

Eggs are filling, protein-rich and contain amino acids that aid in energy production – the perfect combination for game day breakfast. Like avocados, they are also high in B vitamins. Combining eggs in a scramble with other foods that promote sustained energy is a great way to take these in: add some leafy greens like spinach for iron and other essential nutrients.

In the lead up to the game, snacks like fresh fruit and nuts are best to keep you full and maintain energy levels.

Good luck out there!
