Cannon Hill Anglican College’s Year 12 student, Jaide Cambourne, has been recognised as one of their top netballers. She currently plays Goal Attack and Goal Shoot for CHAC’s Firsts netball team with outstanding skills that include mid-long range shooting, circle movement and feeding into the circle.

Jaide said she has been lucky enough to have been coached by some of Australia’s great shooters such as Gretel Bueta, Vicki Wilson and Amy Sommerville. She thinks they’re all quite unique shooters and attackers so has tried to pick up some of their skills to apply to her game.

She said the best piece of advice she’s been given from her CHAC coaches is to work out what makes you you and play to that strength while backing yourself.

Jaide said she enjoys all the physical aspects of training, improving and achieving personal bests in the gym which she can then transfer onto the court. She said she also loves the camaraderie of team sports and working with her friends to build on each other’s goals.

Here’s a look at some of Jaide’s unbelievable netball achievements to date.
